Bokeh is Japanese for blur but is a term used for soft out of focus balls of light which can look very pleasing. Burst in this case is star burst which can be achieved when you have strong areas of light and a correct choice of aperture. Use all three to create some amazing compositions.

    Sam Ealam
Hi, I'm Sam. I am a professional photographer based in Nottingham, UK. I've been specialising in gig photography for the majority of my professional work but I have a range of experience in portrait and landscape photography. I moved to Nottingham to study Filmmaking at Nottingham Trent University, which has given me a range of opportunities to work with a range of equipment and technical processes.

I shoot with a Sony A7iii with a Samyang 24-70mm lens (+ 18mm) but I often attempt to get my hands on other lenses and cameras to practice techniques and processes I am not familiar with. I love learning as well as teaching and feel that photography is always unique to the photographer and I really enjoy listening to everyone's feelings and thoughts in all aspects of photography.

Sam Ealam is available for private bookings
